The Center for Disaster Resilience takes a multidisciplinary approach to hazards, integrating our understanding of the hazards themselves with the social contexts in which they occur to improve preparedness and response.

Part of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the A. James Clark School of Engineering, the center helps communities, industry, and other decision makers understand the risks posed by natural and human-caused hazards and implement management strategies grounded in the latest science.

Center members and affiliates bring expertise from a broad range of science, engineering, and social science fields and leverage the most advanced tools for assessing and responding to risk.
